A 24/7 Society

All over the nation cities are moving towards the idea of a twenty-four hour seven days a week society. People are making a shift away from the typical eight to five day. There are activities going on at all times of the day including those late night and early morning hours that in the past have typically not been used. With the outbreak of this twenty-four hour seven days a week society and many shifting to alternative modes of transportation and the idea of opening off-road, multi-use paths twenty-four hours a day has been brought to attention. Many people aren't aware that these paths are closed typically from dawn to dusk. This is due to the safety and liability that many parks departments have to keep these facilities running. Boulder, close in proximity to the NFR, has over one-hundred miles of concrete paths that are plowed in the winter and lighted. They lead the way in promoting a policy aiming at keeping alternative modes active in cities throughout the nation. The idea that transportation needs to be addressed by all modes of travel for our twenty-four hour seven days a week society is being debated by stakeholders across the nation.
