RAQC Begins 8-Hour Ozone SIP Control Strategy Evaluation Effort

RAQC Logo

Because the Denver Metro/North Front Range Area did not demonstrate attainment of the 2008 National Ambient Air Quality Standard (NAAQS) by the end of 2014 ozone season, the region will be "bumped-up" to a Moderate non-attainment area. As a result, the region must develop and submit a State Implementation Plan (SIP).  To demonstrate the state adopted all reasonably available control measures needed to attain NAAQS, the region must perform a Reasonably Available Control Measures analysis (RACM). As a result, the Regional Air Quality Council (RAQC) formed three subcommittees to evaluate potential strategies. The three subcommittees are:
  • Stationary/Area Sources: First meeting is Tuesday, May 26, 2015 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
  • Mobile Sources/ Fuels: First meeting is Wednesday, May 27, 2015 from 8:00 am to 10:00 am.
  • Transportation/Land Use/Pricing: First meeting is Tuesday, June 2, 2015 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
All meetings will be held at the RAQC office: 1445 Market Street, 5th Floor, 500 Series #2, Denver, CO 80202.  Further information is available through the RAQC website.
