RTD Rail Service to DIA to Begin April 22

Denver Transit Partners has informed the Regional Transportation District in Denver that the University of Colorado A Line/East Rail Line from Denver Union Station to Denver International Airport will open for service on April 22. The line was funded through the FasTracks program, is a 2004 voter-approved transit expansion plan to build 122 miles of commuter and light rail, bus rapid transit, and additional parking. The new line will use commuter rail trains and will have a maximum speed of 79 MPH compared to 55 MPH for light rail vehicles. The rail line will serve eight stations including Union Station and DIA.
