Loveland Summit Explores Commuter Rail Options

Front Range on Track held its second summit in Loveland on Monday, November 16th. More than 70 people came, including representatives of local governments, the Regional Transportation District, the Colorado Department of Transportation, elected officials, and mass transit enthusiasts. The keynote speaker was DJ Mitchell, Assistant Vice President, Passenger Operations, BNSF Railway Company. The summit discussed the CDOT North I-25 Commuter Rail Update, high speed rail, and issues of funding and governance. A list of action items to pursue included: creating a realistic plan; putting together a committee to evaluate options; and building citizen support.
