Traffic in the Denver region is expected to grow, meaning the midday period may soon be as congested as the peak period now. In the past two decades, numerous projects have been completed including the T-REX project, the addition of managed lanes, and rapid expansion of the region's light rail system. In the next year, four rail lines will open as well as a bus rapid transit line from Boulder to Denver. Continued population growth is expected to continue the demand for further transportation investment, though the funding for these projects has become harder to find.
