Uber Takes Step Toward Integrating With Mass Transit

The transportation world is becoming increasingly multimodal. Case in point: Uber has begun partnering with TransLoc, a smartphone application providing real-time bus tracking and route planning. Users on the TransLoc Rider app will be able to see trips including transit, walking, and Uber ride. The partnership aims to be a solution to the first- and last-mile problem that plagues transit: how do you get from a transit stop to your destination or from your origin to the transit top? The partnership will debut as a pilot in Memphis, TN and Raleigh-Durham, NC.
