U.S. 34 rebuild to start this year

Starting in the spring, US 34 will be under construction from Loveland, up the Big Thompson Canyon, to Estes Park. Beginning with community education in the coming months, the construction is expected to last about two years as CDOT rebuilds the route devastated by the 2013 floods. Community education will include stakeholder meetings and a telephone town hall. CDOT recommends US 36 as a detour route.
