On Friday, the Fort Collins Bike Share opened to the public. Funded through a public-private partnership between FC Bikes, Bike Fort Collins, Transfort, and Zagster, the Fort Collins Bike Share has 79 bikes across 13 stations. The program is beginning in Old Town but could expand to other neighborhoods as funding becomes available. The Downtown Bike Library will become the hub of the system, providing staff assistance and bike helmets.

Memberships will work like bike shares around the country. A 24-hour membership is $7, a weekly pass is $15, and an annual pass is $60. Rides up to one-half hour will not cost extra but will cost $2/hour to a maximum of $18 per ride.

For more information, read the article on the Coloradoan and visit the FC Bikes website.
