CDOT to host meetings to discuss US34 construction

CDOT is currently planning the construction schedule for the US34 closure through Thompson Canyon. The plan would close the road next winter, but could speed up overall construction. By closing the road continuously, CDOT estimates the project would be completed by the end of 2018 instead of summer 2020. Continuous work also means CDOT would not complete work in spurts which would allow drivers to use the road but make the project take longer.

To discuss the plan, CDOT is hosting three meetings:
  • April 4: 4:30pm-6:30pm - Big Thompson Associated Building. Meeting for permit holders only.
  • April 5: 5:30-7:30 p.m., Big Thompson Elementary School in Loveland
  • April 6: 5:30-7:30 p.m., Estes Park High School in Estes Park
