County, city reach agreement to fix North College 'gap'

Those who drive US287 have seen the construction north of the City of Fort Collins for the last few years. Due to a jumble of jurisdictions, 1000 feet of road falls under Larimer County's jurisdiction, between CDOT and Fort Collins projects. The project south of Willox Lane is owned by Fort Collins and finished in 2015. CDOT continues work on its widening project north of Terry Lakes Road. Using funding from FHWA and Larimer County, Fort Collins will lead a project to improve the intermittent section of US287, making sure the project fits in with the connecting pieces of the road. The project is expected to go to bid in the summer of 2018, and the construction schedule will be set based on right-of-way acquisition.
