Construction is set to begin on the section of I-25 between SH14 and SH402. The project will add an express lane between Fort Collins and Johnstown, alleviating a common high-traffic area. A contractor has been brought on board for the $330 Million, 3-year project. It is expected that without this project, travel times between Fort Collins and Denver could reach up to three hours. This is more than twice as long as it takes nowadays. What is interesting about this project is that local communities provided a large chunk of funding - more than $55 million. This amounts to 16.67 percent of the total project cost.
