Funding, timeline, Poudre Trail: 3 North Interstate 25 expansion questions answered

The I-25 Expansion project is about to kick off, with work starting at US 34 and SH 402. Major project milestones include "flipping" the SH 402 and I-25 roadways, so that SH 402 crosses over the interstate. SH 402 will be closed for 120 days starting in the summer of 2019, with work in that area continuing through summer 2020.

The Prospect Road bridge over I-25 will be expanded to accommodate two through lanes and two left turn lanes in each direction, with work starting in summer 2019 and continuing through fall 2020.

The I-25 bridge over the Poudre Trail will be widened and raised to allow the Poudre Trail to connect underneath I-25. The bridge reconstruction is scheduled for 2021, followed by trail construction in 2022.
