Railroad crossing in Windsor. Image credit: Google Maps |
Construction is wrapping up on a group of construction projects meant to create a "quiet zone" through the Town of Windsor. Using $3.3 Million from a Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery ("TIGER") grant, the town will see improvements to 13 railroad crossings. The quiet zone will run from Larimer County Road 15 to Weld County Road 19, then will end at SH 257 at Eastman Park Drive. Crossings will now feature crossing gates, flashing lights, and center-island medians.
For more information about the project, read the article on the Coloradoan or visit the traffic alert page.
