I-25 Corridor near Crossroads Boulevard on Google Maps |
Commuters on I-25 should expect slower speeds near the
bridge over Crossroads Boulevard in the coming weeks. Speed limits have already
been lowered to 65 mph as construction crews work to replace the northbound and
southbound bridges. Flaggers will be stationed on Crossroads Boulevard in
Loveland to direct traffic this week. Northbound I-25 traffic will be diverted
to a temporary bridge later this month as workers replace the northbound
bridge. Once that is completed, similar diversions will occur for the southbound
bridge around mid-March. During the daytime, two lanes will remain open in each
direction for the duration of the project. Temporary lane reductions will be confined
to the nighttime hours.
The bridges are being widened to three lanes in each
direction to accommodate the coming I-25 expansion project and to facilitate higher
speeds at what is now described as a “pinch point.” Work on the bridges is
currently on schedule and is tabbed for completion in October 2017.
