#AQAW is this week! Find out how to improve air quality in our Parks and across the state.

Rocky Mountain National Park

April 29 through May 3, 2019 is the National Park Service's "Air Quality Awareness Week". Air quality has a major impact on parks across the country but specifically in Colorado - Rocky Mountain National Park is part of the Denver Metro-North Front Range 8-Hour Ozone Non-Attainment Area. Simple steps can make a big difference, though, as we try to make strides in reducing ozone, improving our air quality, and appreciating the national beauty in the State.

So what can be done to help improve air quality in your neighborhood, county, and your parks?
  • Green your ride - combine trips, carpool, ride your bike, and take the bus or park shuttle.
  • Do not idle - if you are not traveling, turn your car off.
  • Refill your water bottles instead of buying new ones.
  • Talk - talk to other people in your neighborhood about why you should make a small change with a big impact!
