Today is World Asthma Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness on the disease that affects more than 24 million Americans. Air pollution, particularly ozone and particulate matter, are known to trigger or worsen the symptoms of asthma. You can stay informed about air quality in your area by checking the Air Quality Index (AQI) or by signing up for updates during ozone season (June 1 through August 31) from the Regional Air Quality Council (RAQC).

For more resources on how air quality can affect your health visit the Air Quality Awareness Week website by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Want to help contribute to better air quality in our region? Consider combining car trips or getting out on one of the many bicycle and pedestrian trails in the North Front Range!
