Moving Forward Act amendment acknowledges quiet zones

Train cars on Mason St in Fort Collins

Quiet zones, railroad crossings, and loud trains has been a contentious issue along the US287 corridor. As part of the Moving Forward Act proposed in Congress (via an amendment added by the region's Representative, Joe Neguse), the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) would be required to report any research on "supplementary" and "alternative" safety measures to Congress. In addition, the FRA would be required to report on alternative safety measures that communities have submitted through the agency's process for establishing railroad quiet zones and why these requests were not granted.
