I-25 construction via CDOT. Source. |
The North I-25 Express Lanes project has gradually gotten more multimodal as CDOT has found more funding. Because of additional stimulus funds, private developer dollars, and other sources, CDOT will build a second set of slip ramps near the new SH56 interchange for Bustang to use. These slip ramps allow Bustang to stay within the I-25 right-of-way rather than get off at an exit and meander through a park-n-ride.
The first set of slip ramps are currently under construction at Centerra, near US34. The mobility hub includes placing a protected Bustang slip in the middle of the expanded northbound and southbound lanes near Kendall Parkway, The mobility hub design includes a park and ride, plaza with the possibility of food trucks, a landscaped walkway to a tunnel under I-25, and up a ramp to a platform where riders will access buses.
