On December 10, NFRMPO staff participated in a webinar for The Innovative MPO, a guidebook for
planners about new and emerging ideas in planning, programming, technical analysis and
community partnerships. Knowing that an increasing percent of the U.S. population is living within metropolitan areas, Transportation for America created the
guide using case studies from around the country. The case studies range from
small MPOs to large COGs (councils of government), from small regions to large,
for a total of 100 examples from 50 MPOs. Within these case studies, T4America
studied seven focus areas, including public involvement, data utilization,
effective long-range transportation plans, and freight.
