In April, a six station bike-sharing system will open in Fort Collins. The program will be run by the FC Bikes program and the Fort Collins Bike Library. The City is still working with Zagster, the contractor, to determine station locations and the number of bikes. If the system is successful, the number of stations could expand to 20. Estimates are for 1,000 members and 8,000 casual riders within the first year. The Bike Library will continue to operate and will expand its role to be a "staffed hub" for users to ask for help, route suggestions, or places to visit.
For more information about the program, read the article on the Coloradoan and visit the FC Bikes website.
