Yesterday's ribbon cutting for Weld County Road 39 marked a substantial improvement in access for LaSalle, CO. The road extension provides a second route across the Union Pacific Railroad, which will allow travel across the tracks when the other crossing is blocked. The new road will enable emergency responders to more quickly provide emergency services on both sides of US85.

The project was a joint effort by the Town of LaSalle, Weld County, and the Union Pacific Railroad and was brokered by Weld County Commissioner Barbara Kirkmeyer.
