Union Pacific railroad more than doubling speeds through Greeley

Union Pacific (UP) will be gradually increasing speeds along the US85 corridor between Greeley, Evans, and LaSalle. Currently, trains travel at around 20 miles per hour, but UP will be increasing that to 50 miles per hour over the next six weeks. The City of Greeley and UP have invested along the corridor to move toward a quiet zone and improved safety at railroad crossings.UP is doing additional outreach along the corridor as part of its UP Cares program.
