On April 7, voters in the City of Evans and Town of Johnstown approved sales tax increases for street maintenance and other transportation projects.

In Evans, the voter-approved Ballot Measure 2A for street maintenance and repair will increase the city's sales tax by 1%. The additional funding of approximately $3M per year will be used to resurface roads, pave dirt roads, and accelerate arterial expansion on 37th Street, 65th Avenue, and 35th Avenue. Evans launched "The Road Ahead" infrastructure campaign to help residents track the major improvement projects going on in the City, including those that will be funded by the sales tax hike.

With 65% in favor, Johnstown voters approved Ballot Measure 1A for a 0.5% sales and use tax increase for transportation. The tax is expected to generate $2M per year for street and sidewalk maintenance and other transportation projects.
