Raising funds to care for streets

Since the 1980s, residents of Fort Collins have levied sales taxes to fund infrastructure needs throughout the city. The sales tax funds $15 million annually to repair 70 miles of streets, keeping many of the city's streets at a Level of Service B. Recently, a push for a transportation fee to replace the sales tax has not gained traction.

The sales tax is set to expire in December 2015; however, the City Council voted to put the sales tax renewal on the April ballot.
